K-12 LEAD Program
Leadership in Educational Administration Doctorate (Ed.D.)

Welcome!
The Educational Leadership program is ideal for vice principals, principals, district directors and supervisors, assistant superintendents, school business managers, teachers aspiring to acquire administrative roles within the K-12 system, and educational leaders of other organizations.

The LEAD Program at the University of Florida is being offered by nationally recognized faculty. This program is designed to link research and practice to prepare professionals for career enhancement and advancement. It is intended for educators of all levels who are dedicated and focused on providing leadership for the state's students in elementary and secondary schools. Quality school leadership is dependent upon the skills and the knowledge level of the administrators. To this end, the program promotes a practice of school-based leadership.

In addition to the core coursework, students take courses in educational research and research design in preparation for their doctoral dissertation.

ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES

All application materials for the K-12 LEAD Program must be received by the deadline date of February 1, 2010.

Applications are currently being accepted for the following K-12 LEAD programs. These programs are offered via a blended format with face-to-face and online learning opportunities.
  1. Certification LEAD (Ed.S./Ed.D.) - This LEAD program will allow students to obtain their Specialist Degree with Principal Certification in route to the Doctoral degree. The next Certification LEAD will be offered in Collier County beginning Summer, 2010.
  2. Executive LEAD (Ed.D.) - This LEAD program is designed to prepare current school leaders for future positions of leadership at the district, state, and national levels. The next Executive LEAD will be based on the University of Florida campus.
