Special Education Certificates

Certificate programs are available for individuals who do not want to pursue full degree programs but who are interested in learning more about specific areas.  Certificate programs are available in the areas of autism, early childhood special education, and severe disabilities.  Certificate programs consist of 12 to 15 graduate level credits. Participation in a certificate program requires admission to UF as a student with post-baccalaureate status. 

Post-baccalaureate application files must include:
  • Post-baccalaureate application
  • $30 application fee
  • Transcripts from colleges/universities you have attended.
Credits earned in certificate programs may be applied to degree programs subject to Graduate School regulations.

Length: 12 courses (36 credits), approx. 12-18 months for Masters degree; Ed.S requires 36 credits beyond a Masters degree

Computer Requirement: High speed Internet access recommended (complete list of requirements)

Admissions: Beginning of each semester (January, May, August)

Prerequisites: Bachelor's degree; Official GRE Scores
