Teacher Leadership for School Improvement (TLSI)

The Teacher Leadership for School Improvement (TLSI) program is an online masters and specialist degree program that targets improving the learning of students and teachers.

The program is carefully designed by the School of Teaching and Learning and the Center for School Improvement to meet the needs of working elementary, middle school, and secondary teachers.

Length: 12 courses (36 credits), approx. 18-24 months
Delivery: Web

Requirements: Locational - one practicum session

Computer Requirement: High speed Internet access recommended (complete list of requirements)

Admissions: Beginning of each semester (January, May, August)

Prerequisites: Bachelor's degree; GRE 1000 (verbal and quantitative)


TLSI participants will:

• learn new strategies,
• implement them in their classroom with guided assistance,
• collect evidence of student learning, and
• reflect on and adjust their teaching practices.

Through systematic inquiry into teaching practices, the program is designed to enhance student achievement and cultivate lifelong learning that supports teacher leadership for school improvement.
